Blues for New Orleans (and that entire area)

What can you say?

Too late, too little; for too many.
This is America.
We will not only survive but thrive. We do work together.

Shrub2 has to take the responsibility... And stop acting like a college cheerleader.

And you, dear citizen need to…
Donate: to the good people at the Salvation Army (and other charities you know) and forget the Red Cross (for they showed their true meddle following 9/11);

And...
Save the animals; pets and other creatures lost in this disaster.

Whatever your life circumstance, you can measure it against the pain of refugees here at home. And your pain probably is less than so many.

Let us hope that the measure of National Security involved in the rebuilding of this vital port city will have architects create structures able to throw off any force Nature may bring; off with ease. Think geodesics and octrastruss. We will need a truly open design process. Creativity promoted nationally and internationally for rebuilding; paid for with tax dollars. We need honest and hard-nosed construction methods; no graft or cost overruns (like The Big Dig). We need politicians with some foresight, and even more insight; not robots to selfish ambition, or corrupt hierarchies, or inept leadership. We need the New New Orleans to be a shining, impenetrable city by the sea.

Never again, (to use a much-used phrase over recent years,) should Americans see Americans in such great numbers at such great peril and not see immediate relief. In days to come, we will see much blame placing, and it will mean nothing without correct action. We need to spend more time on being correct and less time on being politically correct. Correct is neither conservative nor liberal, it is correct.

This is the country that 'sets the bar' for so much on this planet. It is time that the vision of our creative genius not be stifled, frozen by political infighting, as it seems to be in the rebuilding of the World Trade Tower/s. If it takes a vote, have one. If it takes a consensus, build it with a process that is phased to the needs of the project and the people. America, you need some stones!
We need to help each other. This is the premise of all religious faith; the Golden Rule has nothing to do with either gold or who makes the rules.

When we get around to fixing whatever broke, and created the human travesty we have seen these past five days, we first of all need to have people running any future show with both the intestinal fortitude and power to make things work NOW! Right, wrong or whatever. It will probably take a woman to do this and come out of the process with both ego and task intact. Where are you Oprah?
